There is one reason, I'm not sure where the bugs all lie hence my
request for diagnosis. I'm now at the case where a reboot-to-fsck (cos
/lib/modules/.../kernel dir is corrupt, re-corrupts the file system by
the next boot-to-fsck. dd on the partition is absoltely fine with no
problems, nothing in dmesg, I'm now running memtest86 for a while.
Anyway, as soon as I pin things down a little closer, I'll file the
report on launchpad.

Fair enough.
On gmane.org there is a list for kubuntu bugs but this was the best
place I could find to discuss this.
