As we discussed on IRC just a couple of minutes ago, it does work here on a
Kunbuntu box. That means, now kpowersave (or better powersaved) hands over
suspend2disk to the hibernate script (or in fact to any script that might be
distribution specific).
Installing needed some additional love though, mostly adding a couple of
configure flags for locations of bin dir, sysconf dir etc. and replacing the
supplied init script with the one that's shipped with the Ubuntu packages.
I configured it setting EVENT_GLOBAL_SUSPEND2DISK_OTHER="suspend2"
in /etc/powersave/events. /usr/local/lib/powersave/scripts/ also needed a
little tweaking, removing hibernate.sh from the list because it first found
the ubuntu-specific /etc/acpi/hibernate.sh script, which I'm not using. (That
means that kpowersave now should also work out of the box on ubuntu, given
suspend2 is set in EVENT_GLOBAL_SUSPEND2DISK_OTHER)

Thank you very much for your work!
