1. The kind of errors people have had with NetworkManager handling
resolv.conf seem to have occurred with resolvconf as well.
2. The plugins would need to be changed to talk to resolvconf. I really
think that we'd have a better chance of success if everyone is working
towards the same goal: Perfecting NetworkManager's handling of
resolv.conf. This is also in the interest of the networkmanager
developers so they can also be helpful in this process.

allowed to touch resolv.conf) in my repository:
