What is the reasoning behind this? I only ask as for me, when watching a film at night or whatever, its quite nice to be able to simply press the power button, rather than fannying about with a mouse/keyboard.

I fully agree with you, and would like the old functionality back. But
it's too late now to have what I suggest as the solution to this, given
the imminent release.

The ideal solution would be an option to select what happens when you
press the power, not unlike the PC BIOS has.

General tab, under General section, there should be an option, "Power
button:" with options: Do Nothing, Present Options, Shutdown Computer,
Restart Computer, and Same as Sleep Button.

Just my thoughts on the matter.. Would be nice for Edgy at least, so
that people who prefer the behaviour from pre-Dapper days can get it
back.
