Unfortunately, there wasn't much progress since initial development and
proposition on UBZ meeting, mainly due to lack of time from the
original proposers (I was one of them). Since them, I worked on
integrating my contributions (those marked as DONE in the
"Implementation" section) back into Debian. I posted all patches as bug
reports to Debian's BTS, and most of the patches to QEMU were accepted,
except for the most important one (the binfmt support), which was not
integrated because the package maintainer wanted a "cleaner" solution.
Some people also contacted me off-list with suggestions and willing to
contribute, but nothing concrete was done so far.
It's clear that this project should only succeed with the help of the
community. If we get enough interest and people willing to contribute,
we can even get something done for Edgy (maybe not something
_complete_, but at least a base system to start with).
So, in what things are you willing to help? Is anyone interested in
working with EmbeddedUbuntu? I currently have little free time to make
big contributions, but I certainly can dedicate some time if more
people volunteer to help.
Best Regards,
