Migration Assistant

Hey everyone,
I've been working on a project for the spec at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MigrationAssistance, and I was wondering if I
could get some input from the greater Ubuntu community. I couldn't get
a hold of Evan Dandrea, who's doing something with this for SoC, so I
decided to start my own. :-) If anybody knows where he's doing the
development, could they point me to it? Anyways, here are some open
questions:
- Is it worth supporting migration from operating systems other than
Windows and Mac OS X? I'm guessing an existing Linux user already
knows how to copy his home directory...
- Should this be run from ubiquity in the live installer, or should it
run after an installation?
- If there's not enough room on the new partition, should documents be
sym-linked? ...or the partition resized, and then copied? ...or...
There's a couple more questions on the wiki page, just thought I'd
open up some more discussion here. Thanks! :-)
PS. You can see the code I have so far at
https://svn.bountysource.com/migrate. It can import bookmarks and
wallpapers right now, but its far from finished. Help is welcome B-)
Cheers,
Samuel Cormier-Iijima
