I'll give you the answer I used to give people when I maintained l-r-m
(which was for almost a year, IIRC).
You give me a way to completely source-audit every single change that
has been made from version to version -- without tainting me in terms of
ability to do the same with other drivers, and modify and work on them
-- and then we'll talk.
Black boxes are no good. Versions of the nVidia driver which add PCI
IDs for the very, very top of the line card, and spectacularly break the
far more commmon cards -- which happens a fair bit -- are not
interesting in terms of stable release.
