OK, I deleted my ~/.gconf/apps/compiz and then used the wiki
recommended command for compiz and now I have all the plugins working,
including the elusive switcher.
Thanks for the help.
I've already noticed compiz does not like gl screen savers, crashing X
everytime I go near one.
