Totem any time soon?

Actually, i installed VLC[1] in hopes for a painless video player that
supported the most formats possible...
and i must say that though still a bit rough on the edges, at least i
can play all my dvds/divx/streaming radio... and even more restricted
formats like wmv!

GStreamer 0.10 didn't bring anything new that i can notice, and i
can't be bothered to keep trying to use totem, because i know almost
for sure it won't open <my media file here>.

Sorry for the harsh words, but from my user POV, totem and gstreamer
could be the best software in the world, and they still would suck
badly.
