Installing apt sources

Hi,
I'd like to install some apt sources with a .deb
In Fedora, there is a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ directoyr where you can 
put sources.list files that will be used by apt-get update
Is there something similar with Ubuntu?
Or should I modifiy the main sources.list file?
