There's a big difference between non-free firmware and non-free drivers
- the latter is much worse as the code runs in kernel context on the
same CPU.  And it won't help the driver development if distros won't
ship it.

It seems better to replace the version in the kernel with a CVS
snapshot.  ndiswrapper is a hack, which results in an un-debuggable
kernel, not a long term solution.
