Depends. If you use network-manager, then dhcdbd will call dhclient in
one-shot mode (with option -1), and it will not automatically
reattempt a DHCP request.

If you use ifupdown (i. e. configure your device in
/etc/network/interfaces, and it is automatically brought up at boot
time), then dhclient keeps running and should wake up from time to
time to reattempt DHCP. I haven't tested this yet, though.
