I have submitted a spec [1] abount mounting removable devices 'sync'. When doing so, I forgot
about the limited write cycles limitation in flash devices. I then searched the web for reliable
information on just how many write cycles a flash device can sustain, but couldn't find reliable
information. IIRC I found numbers in the 100K+ range (sorry, [2] is all I have bookmarked). I'm
just mentioning this since Silvan brought it up. I don't think that mounting synchronously is a
great idea after all (disclaimer: my technical ability prohibits me from expressing an informed
opinion).
Thanks and sorry if this is slightly offtopic.
