A decent printing wizard is also really needed by a lot of people -
gthumb is not very good compared to Windows XP, but f-spot and eog don't
have anything even close. The reason my parents went back to Windows XP
was because of photo printing support - and pretty much *only* because
of photo printing support.
f-spot also won't import image files which have *wrong* names. I have
files with names like "me-at-the-shops" rather than
"me-at-the-shops.jpeg". I don't know who Jay Peg is, but he isn't part
of the photo so he doesn't feature in the file name. gthumb "Just Works".
