Workspace / Desktop feature

Yes, I think it would be an option in say the workspace switcher which
would talk to Nautilus via dbus or something similar.  It would be very
cool though.  I find that keeping a bunch of files on the desktop that I
am currently working on, even if they are sym links is extremely useful.
