Several days ago I see the same problem, and I write an item in the BOFs
list for UbuntuBelowZero (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBelowZero/BOFs).
That item says, literally:
"MenuEditorPanelIntegration - Integrate the menu editor into the
gnome-panel (the menu itself), to let the user changing the menu
directly (using the right-click, for instance), and the ability to sort
the menu items arbitrary (now the items are sorted alphabetically,
only)."
I hope this item could be checked in the UBZ.
Ricardo.
