Then please report that in Bugzilla -- ideally it should do both of 
those things. (A resolution chosen manually for the first account is 
even more likely to be a sensible default for gdm, and for new 
accounts, than the resolution guessed by Ubuntu is.) I guess it would 
be quite hard to implement, though.
