Hi,

I am running -686 at home on a Pentium M, and no kernel panic.. So I think -686
is supposed to be working with Pentium M...

Concerning rhymbox, it supports GStreamer plugins, so you can just add the
gstreamer plugins for playing mp3 and it will work.

There is a nice (french) script available at :
http://placelibre.ath.cx/keyes/index.php/2005/09/18/40-easy-ubuntu-22beta-nouvelles-easy-ubuntu
that is called "EasyUbuntu". The goal of this script is to install the missing
pieaces to make an Ubuntu box work.
So, just run this script on a newly installed machine, and everything useful
(multimedia, mplayer, codecs, etc) are going to be installed :)

Regards,
Sami Dalouche
