This bug was originally filed against hal since the bug caused the
most obvious problems in hal. However, in Breezy this became mostly
obsolete due to the new architecture of hal.

However, it should be fixed eventually, I agree. However, that won't
happen in Hoary since it is a stable distribution which does not
receive any "normal" bug fixes.

However, Ben, is there any progress from upstream's side?
