Wow, five! The problem seems to be gone in the newest version though, so
if someone could find updated versions of all the different packages,
inluding scim-pinyin, scim-anthy, scim-hangul and whatnot, the problem
would most likely disappear. Finding compatible versions of all those
packages might be a hassle, though.

When I recompiled SCIM from source (the newest version, of course) there
was no segfault problem at all. I didn't include scim-anthy, however
anthy was included via scim-m17n. Unfortunately there was some minor
problem that caused it to not start from the command line, which meant
that each program using SCIM via GTK+ would freeze and wait for SCIM to
start when one tried to launch it. It did work when it finally started,
however.
Having compiled SCIM from source and seeing that it still works on
Ubuntu made me quite optimistic though, and I hope Dapper Drake will
include SCIM again, along with all its modules. In the meantime, we'll
just have to stick with English and one other language of choice, haha... :D
