MP3's in Kubuntu breezy 64 a $64 question!

Hi Rod,
Do other applications work? Are your soundcard drivers loaded?
Is your soundcard and "devices" properly listen under /proc/asound ?
Can you play a wav file (you'll find some in /usr/share/sound/ )
with the basic commandline application aplay ? Maybe artsd or esd
or occupying the soundcard? (Disable the sound server from your
KDE or Gnome configuration, and all sound events)
