Where did USplash go?

Hi,

I just did a breezy dist-upgrade and now USplash doesn't show at all!
I'm just back to the plain old text scrolling past...
I'm using the -686 kernel, if that's any use? I've attached kern.log,
and grub still appends "splash" to the kernel command line.

Also, since the upgrade, the default firefox page is missing, in fact,
the entire /usr/share/ubuntu-artwork directory is gone...


Ideas?
