I think it would be sensible for the "graphical app" to appear as a 
"Reliability" or similar tab in Nautilus's "Properties" windows for 
Computer (overall settings) and for individual devices (custom 
settings), rather than being something you have to launch separately. 
(As a comparison, the error-checking interface for a disk in Windows is 
in the "Tools" tab of its Properties window.)
