Hello all,

The Ubuntu Documentation Project (UDP) team will be having its 1st
regular meeting on Thursday, the 30th of June, 2005 at 14:00 UTC at
#ubuntu-meeting, irc.freenode.net [1]

The agenda of the meeting which will be tackled (*strictly*) in order
are the following:

1.) Completion of the StyleGuide - what needs to be accomplished and
how the team and community will adopt it in existing and future
documents: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StyleGuide

2.) Finalize the issue of the "format" for documents to be shipped -
we have seen numerous ML debates on the issue and its time to finalize
it for Breezy. Sean Wheller has a very comprehensive explanation of
the issue and everyone should re-read it again:
http://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-doc/2005-June/002588.html

3.) Document Profiling - the Ubuntu Documentation Project is currently
writing and organising documents for both Ubuntu and Kubuntu (Edubuntu
is already in planned). There is no need for us to re-write documents
for each one, and other possible Ubuntu derivatives, spin-offs;
document profiling would make things easier and more uniform in the
writing of new and existing documentation.

4.) docteam.ubuntu.com - this has been agreed upon to host draft
documents for review. The current status and preview pages at
DocteamProjects is so outdated but prospective documentation members
still refer to it the first time they encounter the docteam pages.
This site will serve as a "staging area" for documents already tagged
as "WIP" .

5.) UDP Wiki team - Matthew East sent an email on the possible
creation of a "wiki team", which will be a sub team of the Ubuntu
Documentation Project, whose primarily role is to keep the wiki under
control in terms of structure and organisation:
http://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-doc/2005-June/002664.html

6.) Other issues that were discussed in the previous meeting and needs
follow-up from resource persons:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DocumentationTeamMeetingSummary5

An agenda of the scheduled meeting is also available at the wiki:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DocteamMeetingAgenda [2]

As always, like in previous Documentation Team meetings, it is open
for everyone interested in improving the existing, and shaping the
future of Ubuntu Documentation.

Finally, the UDP regular meeting will happen every two weeks, so the
next meeting will be on the 14th of July, 2005, but the time of the
meeting will be TBA.

Kind regards, to everyone,

Jerome S. Gotangco
