Hi all

I'd like to be able to contribute to Ubuntu by improving some of the 
packages
and rebuilding them. I know how to apt-get source <package> and modify it
and rebuild it with dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc.

Is that the way to do it? Assuming my changes were useful, could I 
submit them,
and how? Is there an Ubuntu-source-fixer/improver-uploader howto?

Looking at the ddclient source package I see no mention of the standard 
Marconi
Telkom ADSL modem. I will test if any of the other settings work and if 
so, I'd like
to update the documentation of the package or if not, include support 
for that
modem. These changes I'd like to be able to put back into Ubuntu if 
possible.

I can write and maintain code in Perl/C/C++ etc, I am just a packaging 
newbie.
