Malone bug that can be closed! How?

I am getting more and more confused about Malone.

The bug 1109[1] has been closed upstream[2]. How do I make sure this update is
reflected in the Malone bug?

I tried adding a bug tracker, linking it to the Debian bug (316043).
This functionality seems of little use--it didn't do any of the things I
was hoping for, just like so many of the other Malone "features".
