Menus in Hoary/Gnome2.9

I can edit .desktop files under /usr/share/applications tht's all.
Gnome-vfs dropped vfolder method, which was used to edit menus and
other stuff.
It was a bit broken so it was removed in favour of gnome-menus.
A menu editor is planned for 2.10 (at gnome side, not ubuntu).
I have to say I disagree, because I can't see a reason for a full blown
menu editor: just make the menu items draggable and editable with a
pop-up menu (a la windows ;))
