umm .. I don't recall it ever worked for me but now i'm not sure ..
i'll check it next time i install.

it exists in Debian .. :

could this be made available in Ubuntu as well ?

It really is a must for Hebrew speaking users, the only other
alternative is msttcorefonts and we don't want that in Ubuntu.
