Old Gnome menus not being fully recognised

Hi,

I've just done a fresh install of Hoary, and then installed my usual
apps I tend to use, some of these generally put menu items under

/usr/share/gnome/apps/

Yet in Hoary, the menu is failing to pick them up correctly and just
putting them all under Other, even though the menu structure has changed
and will keep changing, would it be possible to maintain backwards
compatibility?

One of the main culprits, is Crossover Office, there are several apps
that I use, that are windows based (Internet Explorer, as I do we
development and must test sites under this as well), once installed
under Warty, it used to put a Menu entry, under the main Applications,
called 'Crossover Office', this has now gone and the menus that used to
be there have gone under 'Other', and also when you install any program
under this, it used to put the new Items under
'Applications | Windows Programs',
this is stored in the users v-folders directory.

It would seem that the new system (whether Ubuntu or Gnome) has broken
the old compatibility.

Could this be confirmed on who's side this may lie with,
so a bug (if it truly is) report can be entered.

Regards

Mark Cooke
