That's actually a version number, not a built-on date, despite the
confusing wording.

The kernel ABI breakage applied to all architectures, but at the time I
read your mail sparc had apparently not yet built any version of the
kernel newer than 2.6.10-16, which would seem to make it a separate
problem.

Please make it a separate bug rather than tacking a note on to the end
of #6594; include /var/log/*.
