Actually, the autodetection is fine, and if you have ever used the Hoary
live CD, then it is an evolved version of the tools from Warty (and,
indeed, exactly what is used for the Hoary install).  The problem in
this case is not actually the autodetection, but the i810 driver being
busted for some reason.  I've been investigating it, but it's very
difficult.
