I think it does very much, a nice compromise between those
who think it can be completely disabled and those who want
to have it as another usability option. Maybe add some sort
of pop up and disappear window to inform the user that
enabling this *might* (and most certainly won't) introduce
some security implications and have the autorun feature ask
no questions? I reckon asking "do you want to run this"
everytime someone puts in an autorun enabled media could be
annoying...?
