This sounds like a configuration problem that you might have
introduced.
I have a PCI rt2500 card myself, and it worked out of the
box with
breezy, and is still working with dapper without any
reconfiguration. It
does, however, show up as ra0.
Likely, you need to
get rid of your custom settings and let the
configuration tools do
their work :)
Maybe I did not explain well the problem: my pc have
an eth0 and rt2500 pci card. I haven't (and I can't physically put) any
cable in my eth0.So my only internet connection is avaliable via
rt2500. I'm interested in enable internet connection in ubuntu-
installer because I want to upgrade my software and etc during
installation. I supposed that dapper tries to configure network doing
the following:
- try to make DHCP in eth0 (this obviously fails)
-
when it fails, try to make DHCP with any other devices (in my case
rt2500)
- ask manually configuration (now only with eth0)
I suppose
that I can run all the installtion without internet connection and then
enable ra0 (that I suppose dapper autodetect), but I think that it
should be in the network connection step.
Am I wrong?. Sorry if I
misunderstand what you do.
Thanks,
Xan.
