I am having the same problem (albeit with an 8139 not 29) NIC, which
too, appeared recently, following some kernel update a couple of weeks
ago IIRC. 

I filed a bug about it :
https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=13350

Maybe you could add a note there to confirm the bug, and increase the
chances to see it fixed in time for the release...
