3ware compatibility listing for Ubuntu?

I am contemplating using a 3ware 8506-4lp sata raid card.  If I setup
the raid 1 array in the 3ware bios will the ubuntu installation program
"just see" the raid volume and not the physical drives?  The 3xxx driver
you mentioned does not seem to be on the install media, if it is
required for install onto the raid volume how is this accomplished?
