The alsa driver is blacklisted in hotplug because of 'bug 6810' (https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6810), so it isn't a real alternative. I hope that the modules from sl-modem-source can be included in linux-restricted-modules. -- thtde
