nvid on ati = no 3com

For openers, I am an idiot, so consider that while reading the rest of this.

But, this seems like a serious problem: network config evaporated.

On April 1 I installed Hoary so I could test the nvidia drivers. Except
I forgot to put the nvidia card in and used an ATI Ragepro. (I R idiot.)

The install went smooth, the log files show that it saw the a 3c905 card
and loaded the driver:

I started trying to test the nvidia stuff, and suddenly there was no
eth0. lspci still showed it, but dmesg didn't. A net boot floppy from
http://etherboot.sourceforge.net/ would see it, use it and I could boot
into memtest86+ from my tftp server, so all the hardware is working right.

Anyone want so see any log files?
