AMD64 crash on boot: further info and screenshots

Dear Ubuntu developers,

thanks for your quick response! Here is now a
series of screenshots that show the console output
during the crash (attached as crash-screenshots.png).
Sorry for the poor picture quality, but I hope one
can still read everything...

There is also some good news: I followed the
suggestion of Herbert Xu, and set "acpi=off" in the
grub "menu.lst" file. Now with this change
linux-image-2.6.8.1-3-amd64-k8-smp actually boots
fine!

Thus, as a quick fix, perhaps ACPI should be disabled
by default in the Warty AMD64 SMP kernel?

Thanks for your help,

  Freddy

PS: for the record, here is again a summary of what
works, and what doesn't, on the Fujitsu Siemens
CELSISUS V810. Note that this type of machine
is actually a quite popular choice of a Dual
Opteron workstation, at least here in Germany..
so it would be great if Ubuntu would work out
    of the box!
