I don't think that a wiki page for HardwareSupport is that a good idea

I disagree. I think the Wiki does a fine job listing the hardware in 
this case. I consider myself a normal user, very newb, don't know 
commands in Linux, use Windows, etc. To figure out the Wiki all you have 
to do is look up how to do it (Google or in the HelpContents), or look 
at the previous example of someone else doing it. I found it very easy 
to figure out in one or two tries. Yes, another system would be nice, 
but this one works pretty well too.
