I don't know about what Fabio has in store for XKB (I believe it was
reapplication of an XKB fix from ubuntu19 that went wandering), but the
only thing I wanted to get in was:

This prevents GetModeLine stuff from being spewed to XFree86.0.log every
time the screensaver activates, which spins the disk up, then back down
again.
