Authenication switching.

One of the nice things about Fedora is the ease of setting up
authentication services.  One can set whether the system uses LDAP,
Kerberos, SMB or regular authentication.  I'm hoping there are plans for
Hoary to do this?  Has there been any discussion about this?  Seems I
heard the Userlinux group discuss this, possible the code can be lifted
from there.
