Canonical employees who work on Ubuntu will focus on specific projects
according to the goals of the Ubuntu project and the business objectives of
the company.
That said, the technical problems with multimedia have been solved for a
long time now; there isn't much to do in that department. Canonical doesn't
employ lawyers or lobbyists.

"Ask not what Ubuntu can do for you, but what you can do for Ubuntu." :-)
We will work to integrate and improve these open technologies within Ubuntu,
in pursuit of our existing goal of building a high-quality free operating
system.
You can support these efforts by promoting wider use of these technologies,
in the open source world and beyond.
