well... from a user's point of view there is little difference :D
I just want the functionality, I don't care how it is implemented. :D

encourage? :D Canonical could do more on that field... like provide a "kamikaze" repository with bleeding edge stuff that they would like to see in Ubuntu.
A lot of people are afraid of breaking their system but there are some weirdos (like your's truly) whom don't care about that. For me Ubuntu is an experiment in Linux... I work on Windows and have Ubuntu in a virtual machine... if it breaks it breaks... every morning I do a Refresh-Upgrade... :D and I would most definitely try something like Beagle if it would be in one of the repositories.
