Has anybody thought about the possibility of running DHCP in the background when
a user enables it at startup or uses ifup to bring it up? Currently, DHCP takes
over the system and doesn't allow the bootup process or suspend/resume process
(with mjg59's scripts) to continue without introducing a wait - which is
extremely long if no network is found. This would be good for Hoary as it
would speed up these processes.
