My modem is on /dev/ttyS1 but the default is /dev/ttyS0.
Solution
=========
Right click modem lights. Preferences. Go to the advanced tab. change
the lock file from /var/lock/LCK..ttyS0 to /var/LCK..ttyS1
Modem lights is working fine now.
