Hoary bugs -> bugzilla or mailing list?

I don't know if this was discussed previously but I want to know where 
is the best place to put hoary bugs.  Is it bugzilla or do you prefer 
first to be discussed in the mailing list?

As an example, openoffice calc files are opened by gnumeric instead of 
ooo and ooo doesn't show up as an option.  Another ... if you look at 
/home, my user folder is huge (5 times bigger than the other folders)
