Hello,

I originally reported this in the Linux Mint git, but they closed it
advising to report to you ...
https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon/issues/10996 ... please let me
know if you need any additional info.

Thanks,

Steve

contents of git report:

* Cinnamon version 5.2.7

- Not using the daily builds PPA

* Distribution - Mint 20.3 - Kernel: 5.15.0-43-generic x86_64 bits

* Graphics Device-1: AMD vendor: Micro-Star MSI driver: amdgpu v: kernel
bus ID: 03:00.0            chip ID: 1002:73df Display: x11 server: X.Org
1.20.13 driver: amdgpu,ati unloaded: fbdev,modesetting,radeon,vesa tty:
N/A OpenGL:            renderer: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (navy_flounder
LLVM 14.0.1 DRM 3.42 5.15.0-43-generic)            v: 4.6 Mesa 22.0.5 -
kisak-mesa PPA direct render: Yes

*Issue*

With the 5.15.0-* kernel series, lm-sensors no longer reports the AMD
GPU fan speed rpms, it's always listed as 0. Using the 5.13.0-52 kernel,
lm-sensors properly reports the AMD GPU fan speed rpms.

*Steps to reproduce*

Run lm-sensors in kernel 5.13.0-52 and in any of the 5.15.0-* kernels.

*Expected behaviour*

lm-sensors to display AMD GPU fan speed rpms in kernel 5.15.0-* just
like it previously did in kernel 5.13.0-52 ... being able to monitor fan
speeds on the gpu is handy, as my pc is in a living room component
cabinet and maintaining positive airflow is vital while gaming.
