Simple scan doesn't recognize my scanner Brother DCP-7060D

Hello,
 
I have two computers : one "old" desktop (32 bits) and a recent laptop (64 bits). Both are operating with Linux Mint 18.1. I have just finished installing all drivers (following the Brother procedure with command lines) on both computers. Printer + scanner DCP-7060D are working fine on Mint 32 bits ... but on 64 bits, only the printer is OK: when I start "Simple Scan" from the application menu, I get an error message "Impossible to connect the scanner" and scan is therefore not allowed. But I have found that I can scan when I type "sudo simple-scan" in a terminal !!!

Is it a bug ? Here are the infos on my system :
