kmod is used on installed system, with split /usr, and inside d-i.

there is zlib udeb, thus enabling zlib compression is mostly harmless.

there is no xz-udeb that i can see however.

Thus to enable both: xz-utils need a udeb first, then one can enable
compression in kmod.
