We made a PPA for Malayalam fonts which supports 15.04 as well
https://launchpad.net/~smcproject/+archive/ubuntu/repo
Please some one show some love to the bug i pointed earlier (958345
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/958345>)
and on this question
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ttf-indic-fonts/+question/260410
Fixes needed for Malayalam
1. Installer dependency is now ttf-indic-fonts-core which contains 2010
version of fonts , totally outdated due to change in opentype specification
and support for new rendering engines . For Malayalam , Meera04 and
Rachana04 need to be removed from that package and installer dependency for
Malayalam need to be set to fonts-smc-meera (whichyou can take from PPA)
2. All Malayalam Language support now points ttf-malayalam-fonts , Please
change it to fonts-smc and if possible include fonts-smc to main repo .
The PPA have updated version
This is the most wanted fix for a language community from Indian State
named Kerala, where ubuntu is used in its iT at school program in the state .
Now we force to remaster the isos for school use due to issues like this
